Expert Opinions
Research studies indicate that adding half a teaspoon of
cinnamon a day to the diet can significantly reduce blood
sugar levels in diabetics. This discovery was made by Richard
Anderson at the US department of Agriculture’s Human
Nutrition Centre in Beltsville Maryland, and confirmed by
further research conducted by Alam Khan. The later study
found that volunteers with Type 2 diabetes who were given
up to six grams of cinnamon a day, showed a 20% reduction
in blood sugar levels over the control group. It also lowered
blood levels of fats and bad cholesterol.
